Kerensa and Dean's wedding - The Longcross Hotel, Port Isaac, December 2007.

Thank you Solution for making our wedding celebrations Rock! You were brilliant and that comes not only from us, but also our guests, we have had so many comments on how great you were. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone had such a great time.

Not only is your music fantastic but your great guys to do business with, you made everything run so smoothly, including the playing of our own music in between sets. Thank you, thank you, thank you ... we cannot praise you enough.

Wedding Reception - Jon & Helen - Green Bank Hotel, Falmouth.  July 2007

Solution played at our wedding and we and all of our guests thought they were great - they picked just the right music to get almost every single person up on the dance floor, even those who swore before that they wouldn't be tempted on there, and lots who were on there for most of the night, and generally helped us have a really brilliant evening. Lots of our guests commented on how well they performed and what a great atmosphere they created. Their cover version of Dream a Little Dream which they learnt especially for our first dance was fantastic. We would recommend them to anyone looking for live music for a function in Cornwall!

All the best, and thanks once again - we had an absolutely brilliant wedding and you helped to make the evening really great. The best man was supposed to buy you all a pint - if he didn't, we're sorry!

Jon and Helen

Weekend of 10th / 11th March 2006 - A WEEKEND OF CONTRASTS!

Friday saw us back at The Coppice in Lanner (third visit I think). Sadly most of Lanner decided it was too cold and stayed in to watch East Enders rather than go to the pub. The few that turned up were very appreciative though. Thanks.

Saturday was "another day another planet" (Who wrote that then?)*

Our first gig at The Watering Hole at Perranporth. Fantastic night with a packed and friendly club. Our usual first set oozing class and all round cleverness. (and that was just the drummer!) Second set and it was dancing time. It seemed everyone there was on the floor. Great reception with the highlight being the entire dance floor singing all the words to a medley of Police tracks all of which were written before they were born. How does that work??? I blame the parents.

And then as it seemed the frenzy was unstoppable—disaster!!! As the final chords of the Medley ended, Phil our bass player, amid the smell of burning talent, announced "I’ve got no bass". "Shouldn’t think anyone will notice" replied a voice from somewhere near the small and unspectacular keyboard player. (Well he is called Ant!)

Repairs made and it’s a final blast with sadly only time for one encore-Summer of 69, and it’s all over. Audience go home safe and happy and one hour later band trudge across the sand dunes in the rain with the gear on our backs. Well in a flat bed track anyway. Forget your Hammersmith Odeon - this is real rock and roll and we all can’t wait to do it all again.

Thanks to all the staff at The Watering Hole for making us feel so welcome and especially to Dave for helping lug the gear.

Rich.

*actually, Rich, it was The Only Ones and its Another Girl Another Planet – released in 1977 I think and subsequently covered by The Replacements, Blink 182 and Babyshambles - oh the joys of being the youngster in the band! – Phil

From the Amplifeye website:

Seen these guys a couple of times now. Absolutely superb. Worth seeing just to hear "Money" by Pink Floyd. The way it should be played.

Steve Todd - Lloyds Bank Charity Event, Burrell Theatre, Truro School, 21st October 2005

Guys, Thank you all again for the great night of music at the Burrell Theatre, Truro School. The music was special and a great time was had by all - I am sure you will have added many more followers of the band following the gig.

'Money' by Pink Floyd is a particular favourite of mine and you played it brilliantly. The eclectic mix of numbers on the night gave something for everyone and It was great of you to do the encores and finish with 'Mustang Sally' - we were sorry our licence meant you had to finish at 10.30pm. Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Steve

P.S. We raised loads of money for our charity Marie Curie Cancer Care on the night - Thanks again

Sam & Andrew Paciuszko - wedding reception 30th September 2005, Watergate Bay Hotel

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!!! You made our wedding reception so memorable and special. Everyone has commented and complimented on how great you were. I'm sure we will be visiting you at a gig nearby soon.

From Sam & Andrew Paciuszko

Eleanor Slade - party 24th September 2005, Mawnan Smith

solution played at our home to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary they were simply superb and all my guests were amazed by how good they were I did not want them to stop playing thank you all for making it such a fantastic evening for me and my husband and all our guests cannot wait to hear you all again !!!!!!

St Austell "Tour" 27/30th July

Couple of gigs down St Austell Way last week.

Wed saw the band at a new venue-The Carlyon Arms in Sandy Hill. First time for us and a superb venue. Bit of a slow start as we got used to the sound and the audience to us. Solid first set with "Running down a Dream" giving everyone a storming finish and promise of more to come. Second set great with some awesome dancing up the front from some lovely ladies. (You know who you are!). A great night ended with a couple of encores and more dancing. Thanks and we look forward to coming back soon.

Bob Williams (left), Ant (centre) and a very sexy Moog synth (right)

Saturday was a welcome return to the Rashleigh Arms in Charlestown. Always a good night for us (our fourth visit I think) . John particularly played wonderfully and good to see several regulars in the crowd enjoying the band. Saturday was a special night for Ant with Bob Williams of "Analogue Systems" setting up the latest version of the famous "Moog" synthesiser for Ant to use. Sounded great - it was 1972 all over again and great to hear those sounds again. Thanks Bob.

Another two encores - Bohemian and Scissor Sisters and we’re off home. See you again soon (1st Oct)

Rich.

Gigs 3/4th June 2005

Couple of gigs at the weekend. Solid night with some nice people at the Godolphin in Marazion on Friday. Nice venue this and one we like playing. Band played well particularly Phil who managed to play the whole of "Burning Down the House" without a guitar strap! (rock and roll!)

Back there on the 15th July and looking forward to it.

Next night was one of our favourites - Skinners in Newquay. Great gig - they love their music up there. Band were storming. John stunned everyone with his playing particularly "Money" buy Floyd. Only the 5th time we’ve played it but this was the best. Noticed 2 guys in the audience, obviously Floyd fans, thought they’d died and gone to heaven when we started. The usual storming second set with lots of dancing on the postage stamp floor. Two encores and we’re off at 11.45. Strict curfew in Newquay - well it’s such a quiet town on a Sat night. Home for hot milk and biscuits and looking forward to another 2 nights of mayhem next week.

See yah.

Rich.

Porthtowan Cricket Club,   Sun 30th May 2004

Thought I'd let you know how fab your gig was last Sunday at the Porthtowan Cricket Club. ..... fantastic stuff! ...... found myself amazed at the quality of the whole band. What talent (take that whichever way you want!!). I had a great evening and couldn't believe I was getting it all for free.

I was struck by how obviously you were all enjoying making music together. I also noticed that your opening 2 numbers really got people's attention and that attention didn't wane throughout the evening.

Well, just from one gig, can you see the impact you can have on members of your audience? I'll just have to attend more of your gigs to make sure my motivation doesn't flag.

Thank you, from your newest fan.

Jacqui
